Titan Insurance

I just recently got married so i decided to add my spouse in my insurance policy with Progressive, she has of course Titan Insurance then she calls me telling me that she has to pay a FEE for cancelling before her policy expires (which i think is bull@^*@) I've worked in the automotive industry for over 13 years and I've never seen anything like this, i told the operator that there has to be a way around it since she has been with this company for a long time, she comes back to me telling me "so...do you have a question for me about this phone call" i told her that yes...that i was gonna tell all my friends, family and the world not to EVER use this insurance company...i'm so glad we never had a claim otherwise it would be another nightmare...

Actually a lot of insurance companys have fees for cancelling the policy.

Rightfully so! I would be pissed too if I had to pay to cancel my policy, what a bunch of crock. She should have sued the company in small claims court and filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office.

Rental Insurance

This company does not want to pay for you to get a rental because they take so long in processing your claim they are totally cheap company that is not on the A1 list! This is sure not a plus for the policies holder because people having to pay out that pocket could try to sue you and that is surely not a piece of mine company...ugh I am working a part-time job and because their policy holder ran a stop sign I have to suffer because they don't want to rent you a car!!! This is not a good company at all and no one should get this insurance on their ca

Titan insurance is a high risk insurance company meaning they insure people that can't get insurance anywhere else. Therefore, they need to investigate if the person insured even has insurance at all.

Afterwards, their interest is to protect the insured, not the claimant. Do your research before you think you know it all.

THEY JUST CANT GET IT RIGHT!!! DETAILS, DETAILS!!!

To start-I dealt with Lupe at the Mesa, AZ location off Mesa Dr (I believe). I contacted Titan Auto Ins Oct 2012 to add a vehicle and driver to my policy. I paid $50 to have that vehicle added immediately for the remainder of my policy (2wks) and then I was to begin paying for monthly insurance after that. 6 months go by!! I received a renewal offer in the mail April 2013 from Gainsco and that vehicle nor the driver was listed on my policy. I called Gainsco to ask why for 6 months this vehicle/driver has not been covered. They advised me they never received the information from Titan and that I need to contact them. So, I called Titan only to be told the person who processed this for me back in Oct 2012 (Lupe) was not in today and he can not access her emails to help me. He then lead onto say she would call me back tomorrow once she is in. That pissed me off!! "This entire time he has been driving with no insurance, do you not realize you guys could have cost me over $1000 if he were to get pulled over". He said, "again, I can not help you, I can't access her emails". I said "I would like to speak to someone who can help me then, perhaps a manager". He said, "I can have a manager call you back, what is your phone number" (I had an issue with them 6mo prior to this as well that could have cost me money and a manager was supposed to call me then and never did). I gave him my number after I asked to be transferred to a manager (they can't transfer calls to managers). That day I got not one call from a manager, next day I never got a call from a manager nor Lupe the ONLY person that could help me. I waited till the end of the day the second day to see if I would get a call and because I never did I called back myself. Lupe is rude to begin with. She tried telling me I was in the wrong because of the way I worded a question! THERE IS NOOOOOO CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH THIS COMPANY!!! She finally figured out what happened and explained the paperwork didn't get sent to Gainsco in enough time so that is why the vehicle was never addedd to my policy. A CALL 6 MONTHS AGO INFORMING ME OF THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL! At least I would've known he was driving with no insurance and could've done what was necessary to get him added. While Lupe was explaining what happened with the delay she also let me know if I wanted him added at this point it will be $60 for the remainder of my policy. I told her no, not at this time as I am shopping around for other insurance companies. That was that and we got off the phone. I called Gainsco and made my monthly payment the next day, 4/5/13. Then, two nights ago (3 days after making my monthly payment) I opened the mail and I had a bill from Gainsco auto ins for $245 which is $60 more than my normal monthly payment. I called Gainsco and they advised me Titan sent them paperwork to add the vehicle/driver and that I needed to pay $60 by 4/20/13. I NEVER ONCE ASKED LUPE TO ADD THAT VEHICLE AFTER ALL THIS HAPPENED! As stated above, I told her "NO, not at this time as I am shopping around for auto ins companies". I will NEVER refer Titan Auto to anyone. In fact, I will let them know if they want things done right they need look elsewhere. Titan has absolutely no customer service whatsoever and definitely does not listen to what the customers needs/wants are.

Slick Broker Fee for incompetent Broker - Thanks for nothing! Better yet thanks for making me spend more $$$ = (

Titan Insurance agent failed to mention $75.00 broker fee for switching to cheaper insurance company. One month after switch the no-name company ups my rate for wrong info that I did NOT provide them. One month after that another $40 increase for zip code change. Zip code from previous insurnace co 94602 - How did new no-name "cheaper" company get old 94533 zipcode in the first place. Basically Ti...tan Agent did not provide accurate info to new no-name company. Ended up with no-name company for same as I was paying with original insurance company. Went out on my own and got FARMERS insurance same policy actually better policy and access to great customer service for $127.00 a month cheaper. Thanks anyways. Over all I'd say that I over spent by $127/mo for 3 months plus $75.00 broker fee for total of $456.

Brokers do not work for titan, they are independent. You made a poor choice in selecting a broker, and that becomes Titans fault?

One mile an hour fender bender - $1300!!!

I was waiting at a stoplight and my foot slipped off the brake when I reached for something in my purse. I bumped the girl in front of me. So we pulled over and assessed our cars - absolutely NO DAMAGE to either vehicle, I have pictures. We exchanged insurance information anyway, since its what you do, and because I was 7 months pregnant. My policy was up for renewal a couple months ago and it had gone up almost $40 a month! When I called and asked why, they said my "accident" totaled $700 in medical bills and $600 in auto repair for the other driver. Apparently, Titan's policy is to "check out" the other car, call it damaged no matter what, and authorize it to be "fixed". And of course, if anyone goes in for a doctor's visit after an accident, they pay for it. Wish I would have known - I could have gotten 2 paid days off work for a BS claim. Again, I was 7 months pregnant and I didn't go to the doctor! I guess the girl I hit was just looking for some free time off work - and I use the term girl because no self-respecting woman would go to the doctor and get 2 days off work after a bump. So for everyone out there - do not insure with these people - there is a reason why they are cheaper. Go with a reputable company. And BTW, we did not renew our policy with Titan, so their scam did not work with us. Lesson learned!!!

As an adjuster, I think I can help shed some light on why your claim was paid as it was and what unknown benefit was provided to you that you may not be aware of.

I am a casualty/bodily injury adjuster. I am tasked with investigating coverage, liability, and fraud in every claim I receive.

I am also tasked with valuing and negotiating property and bodily injury claims while identifying subrogation opportunities along the way. It's a stressful job and not for everybody.

Back to the point, you paid for state mandated liability insurance coverage to protect you in the instance that you are at fault for an accident. In this case, you were.

Nothing to be ashamed of. In my past, I have been at fault for auto accidents as well. They happen and this why you carry insurance. Back to your case, as you identified, you rear-ended a person who made a bodily injury claim against you for their "injuries" and property damage.

A combined payout of $1,300 is a blip on the radar, so to speak, for an insurance company.

There is a whole separate industry you are unaware of that works to exaggerate claims deriving from auto accidents. As a whole, property damage adjusters (the individual who handled the damage to the other person's bumper) have been successful in reigning in this type of fraud. Believe it or not, $600 is on the extreme low end of minor rear bumper repair costs. They likely paid to have some scuffs buffed out.

Bodily injury claims are a whole separate, expensive, and fraud-ridden animal that is so unbelievably expensive $700 is considered it a win.

I guess the best way to explain it is to make the mistake of assuming what happened in the settlement of this other person's bodily injury claim versus what could have happened. What likely happened is this person reported neck and back pain as a result of the impact. This is probably a fraudulent or exaggerated claim, given your description of the events. You probably rear-ended the wrong person.

The adjuster who was assigned your claim and conducted an interview with the other party has a choice to make, delay settlement and make this person justify their claim or provide them a settlement offer. Delaying increases the risk of attorneys, chiropractors, etc. who troll for police reports in order to solicit the other person into undergoing expensive and unnecessary treatment. This increases the value of their claim and provides a financial windfall for these industries who thrive on insurance settlements.

Know this, and it is and it is an inescapable fact, they are not alleging negligence against the insurance company. They are alleging negligence against you. The insurance adjuster is working to protect you, as promised, against these personal claims. They insert themselves to resolve it prior to going to court.

I have seen plenty of files go south, where attorneys have filed suit in the hopes of suing you personally rather than accepting an insurance company's offer, and, in extreme cases, it has totaled hundreds of thousands of dollars levied against you, not Titan Insurance.

So, Titan settled your BI claim for $700 and your PD for $600. All potential scenarios considered, I think they did a great job.

Tanishka Bix

"We exchanged insurance information anyway, since its what you do, and because I was 7 months pregnant."

So if you WEREN'T 7 months pregnant you WOULDN'T have exchanged info?? Oh, I get it, you threw that pregnancy bit in to gain sympathy. :roll

Of course you say there was absolutely no damage, you're the one who hit her. And by the way, the reason you get car insurance is to be able to cover damages to the other driver that YOU cause in an accident. That's the *** point of car insurance!!! That's why if you DO get into an accident your rate goes up!!! Has no one ever explained this to you?!?! You could've gone to the doctor if you wanted to but since it was your *** fault you would've had to pay!!!

"I guess the girl I hit was just looking for some free time off work - and I use the term girl because no self-respecting woman would go to the doctor and get 2 days off work after a bump.".......That's hilarious. A woman, self respecting or not, would understand the concept of auto insurance. You are obviously not a doctor so how do you know what injuries she sustained after your fat foot slid off the brake? I wish your child much luck in life, he/she/it'll need it.

You are a fool, they are not in the business of paying undeserved money. You caused an accident, accept responsibility.

Hit by "Titan" client

A person backed directly into my car causing 1100 dollars damage, estimated by a reputable shop of my choosing. However, before taking time off work to go get that estimate I quickly ran to one of their "preferred chop shops" on lunch hour for their estimate which was incomplete and totaled to a measly 475 dollars - it did not include paint blending which is a necessary and lengthy procedure, especially for a metallic silver vehicle which their low-end shop would not perform. Ultimately they will not honor, nor consider, any estimate not provided by one of their "preferred" shops. Stay away from this company if you're considering opening an insurance policy with them - if you're as unfortunate as I am and are involved in a collision with one of their "insured motorists," good luck getting your vehicle repaired at a shop that isn't low quality, ghetto and that will half-*** fix it. Also if your car has performance upgrades such as mine - I would suggest removing them before leaving your car at their chop shop. I'm not saying my upgrades went missing but I wouldnt put it past their shops seeing how low quality their insurance is. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Stop Payment never Stopped

I first started out with Titan when I was 25 and have never received a ticket or been in an accident. I had originally started paying for full coverage on the first vehicle I owed. Once I decided that I was going to buy a new vehicle I called Titan and requested that the coverage be transferred over to my new truck. After about 6 months later I acquired another car to cut down the cost on my commute to work everyday. When on the phone with Titan I found out that the truck I was driving was never insured!!! After yelling at the representative they said they would reimburse me the 6 months that I was never covered. That never happened. I finally decided to look into different insurance providers and after sitting down with my new insurance rep I come to find out that I was paying almost $200 for one vehicle and the truck was never insured...again!!! I called Titan to cancel my policy and stop payment and I woke up the next day to find that my bank account had been charged immediately for the coverage after I was told the day that I called to cancel that I wouldn't be charged again. I called in and immediately escalated the call to a supervisor by the name of Chris who then told me that it was my fault that I was charged and that I needed to call the bank because they were not going to refund my money. I tried to plea with him, trying to get my money reimbursed and I was repeatedly told NO. This has been the worst experience I've had to go through with any company. Thankfully I have a great bank that worked on stopping payment and replacing the money back into my account. NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER DO BUSINESS WITH TITAN.

Hit by Titan insured driver.

I was one of 4 cars hit by a Titan insured driver. Had badly damaged front and rear bumpers. Titan sent a field claim adjuster a few days later, he assessed the damage and I received a $1900.+ award with the promise of a check being sent as soon as the other 3 releases were received by Titan. This was 9 months ago. Every 2 month I get a notice they are taking advantage of a rule that allows more time to "investigate", and a check will be sent in 30 days. 9 months later, still no check and another letter saying they have not received the last release. This seems to be a scam which allows drivers to drive uninsured in CA after paying a small fee to Titan. Are there others who are being scammed by these people? Maybe a class action lawsuit is in order? I will be contacting a consumer fraud service on a local TV station and hope they pursue this matter further.

File a complaint with the Department of Insurance against Titan and their insured driver, also taking Titan to small claims court for your balance plus a thousand for other incidentals might get you somewhere.

Accident 4 way stop clay and louisiana

I stopped at a 4 way stop heading south. vehicle stopped at stop sign heading east.

I continued through intersection and she made a right hand turn and hit the back passenger tire rim. The police were called. A claim was filed with both insurance and adjusters. The accident was on the 19th on November.

I was told to wait until I hear back from insurance because the two insurance companies had to negotiate. 2 months later I'm still waiting and now word. I have tried numerous times to contact my adjuster through titan and she will not return my calls. My claim number is 888********, my adjuster is Christine Esquivel her contact is 800-951.1617 ext 307****.

Titan car insurance

ok so last month i started car insurance with Titan, after paying close to 300.00 dollars to get it started, (i am 25 married husband has no license, been n ONE accident which wasn't my fault at all n only have ONE ticket ever. other then those i have a great driving record) anyways, this month i paid my 197 (i shouldn't have to be paying this much since i am not high risk) i get a letter n the middle of the month them wanting another almost 300.00 see when i first signed the contract i was able to get the accident discount (wasn't my fault but yet it seems like i am still paying for something i didn't have no control over) i signed the contract, NOW they are wanting to take it off of my contact, wtf. now i've never missed a payment for anything like this i am a good comsumer, but yet these darn car insurance places keep screwing me over. i left alf because i needed a cheaper insurance so Geico only wanted 123.00 a month compare to someone else that wanted 160.00 something cause of the accident i was n n plus that lady said Michigan change some of their insurance laws? but geico cancelled on me their selves cause of my husband not having a license, they didn't have the program i needed. so they refund me etc.. but the ppl i was going through before geico didn't wanna take me back cause i never cancelled from geico when i kept telling alf they cancelled on me. i didn't want to cancel. n now this ***. wtf. i swear i have so much going on right now i don't know how much more i can take. what make these company think they can mess with us ppl. its bs... n now when i got that letter from titan i went straight to the people i go through alf, showed it to them, they called the ppl, didn't get know wheres from there, n they told me that the main person is now looking into it, will the 23rd came n went that was the due date for that almost 300.00. they need to refund me all my money back n ill once again look around. but it ticks me off me paying for this accident that wasn't even are fault or n our name the car was under my mother in laws name n the insurance through Bristol west, but i was the driver, our car got totaled didn't get nothing from the women that hit us head on. i just don't know. sorry for venting. just don't know where else to go

Titan Insurance Company

My son (18 yrs old) purchased an insurance policy due to attempting to buy a new car. In the excitement of getting his first car, he paid for his insurance policy a few days before transferring the title. The person was unable to find the title so therefore never took possession of the car. Titan has promised over the last 7 weeks to refund his money after giving him several steps to complete AND they have never refunded it. Every time we call they state they are putting a slip in for his refund and everytime we call when we haven't received the money they say there is a "glitch" in their system. HE HAS NOT RECEIVED HIS MONEY. I have talked to them several times as well. All we get is an apology and NO MONEY! This place is a scam! They have been holding onto $150 plus for 2 months and it is RIDICULOUS!

You can call the insurance commission board and they will help. The insurance company has to follow the rules of the state or can be fined. You also can take the insurance company to small claims court

Titan Auto Insurance is Shady

Beware!!! They will renew your insurance contract without you knowing it! They will send you a letter that states that your contract is done for the year, but supposedly in the fine print it says that they will automatically renew it for you if they don't hear from you. Somehow, that sounds really wrong to me especially since it's not stated on the original contract that they can do that. I've been with this company for 4 years, & from previous years, I've always had to verbally speak with an agent or sign a new contract. Nothing like that from their company this year & nothing in the contract I previously signed and authorized had stated that they would automatically renew my contract each year. Also, when they quote you your monthly payments, don't be surprised if the next month it's gone up in price. If you don't pay your full premium, according to them, they adjust it monthly until you pay for it all. But if you look at how much you're paying, it's actually more than the original premium they quoted you. Don't bother with this company! Go for the bigger & better known insurance companies with reputable histories! Another thing....how come I can't find this company under the Better Business Bureau?? According to them, they have several locations at which an agent can be found, but when I checked those addresses with the BBB, nothing comes up? And if you look up their business name, you get locations in Palmdale and Victorville only. Shadddyyyy.......

I have had insurance with Titans for a year, and when it was time to renewal my monthly premium increases. I inquired as to why, and I got some bs reason pertaining to the area I live In and the amount of accidents and speading tickets people recieved in my area.

Lol. What does that have to do with me?!

Don't waste your time with these guys! They will raise your monthly premium for no apparent reason.

Said didnt have full coverage when we filed a claim

When we bought the vehicle we had to have full coverage because it was a financed vehicle and camper. Agent at time of purchase said that is what we had. Vehicle was hit on both sides, we tried to file a claim and was told that there was only liability on it. WTF happennned to the full coverage??? The company was TITAN at the time of puchase but they have changed to a different company now, still wouldn't they keep us on the full coverage plan? Why wasn'y I notified of the change and why wasn't I asked if we wanted it changed?

Titan is deceitful and horrible!

I am a college student who recently purchased my first auto insurance for a small sedan I bought. I called for quotes from many different insurance agencies, and found that Titan offered the best deal ($53 dollars a month for liability and uninsured motorist). I paid it in full. Two weeks later, I receive a bill in the mail saying I owe $200 and the $318 was my down payment. I called and found out that the women "accidentally" entered my birthday wrong by a decade, which increased my rate from $53 dollars to $80 without my consent! In addition, she entered the VIN number wrong and my phone number wrong, which I had already advised her about. She never corrected it. I was so angry, I decided to cancel my auto insurance with Titan and find another carrier. When I went to sign a paper for my pro-rate refund, I find out they are going to charge me a 10% short-rated charge on my premium for terminating my contract--even though it was THEIR fault! In addition, they are charging me the short-rated charge on the $518 dollars a month rather than the $318 I signed for. They told me this 10% is the state law. I looked online and found that it is not a state law! What is a state law is that insurance companies can only charge 10% max for short rated contracts. This insurance company is deceitful and a hoax! NEVER use them!
